wont upload the original photo info

I have emailed support and there is no future plan to update this feature, but it's a real pain that when you upload photos etc, it does not include the original information.  Once you upload, you loose the original date and time which is so important for photos.  Anybody know of a workaround besides manually typing in the info on each photo?
