How do I determine file location from web app?

Since we can't search sub-directories from the Drive App, I use the Web App for file searches. However, if the file(s) show up in the search, how do you determine the file's location? It's too cumbersome to download the file to edit it and then "Replace" it after editing. Am I missing something? Either on searching sub-directories from Windows 7 or determining file location from the Web App? I also don't like how you can't read the whole name of a (admittedly) too long file name.

  Hello Jacki,

  This is an excellent question. You can search for files on your computer by mapping OpenDrive as a network drive through our new WebDAV feature. Once you do that, going to Start>Search will allow you to select OpenDrive as a fully searchable location, the same as if it was an actual drive on your computer.

  After setting up the Network Drive, I did a search to test it out. After 46 minutes the green progress bar had only gone about 98%, (It had taken about 5 minutes to get to 98%.) so I gave up. Any thoughts why the search didn't work?

  This could be due to the quantity of files you have stored on your account. If there are a lot of files, numbering in the hundreds and thousands, it will take time for our servers to process the information. This requires connections and re-connections through our secure VPN tunnel that you connect thru to access your files.

  The WebDAV server is still in Beta, so there might be some things that have to be tweaked in order to make it run more efficiently. There are some delays in the connection and it can time out. Re-running the search might yield better results, allowing your computer another opportunity to connect to our WebDAV server.

  We discourage exchange of personal information on this forum, since it is public, but we would love to know more about what you are doing and help you privately through our support desk. We will also be able to look into your account if need be and more easily discover any specific issues that are hindering your tasks.
